Mom was a cat, where she ate lots of sugary fish today. Jet kept going after her tail just like he does to the cats in our neighborhood! |

Which means you’re likely to get a swift kick if you put a hot pad or bag of ice on your ginormous belly.
For the Elton John lovers out there - baby’s got blue eyes.
This could easily change after birth (or even between now and labor), but for the time being, blue it is.
Thanks to their recently matured lungs and a strengthening immune system, over 90% of babies born in their 32nd week survive!
So - go ahead and throw a mini-party right now because it’s pretty much a done deal - you've got a human-bean that's going to make it!
And how's mom doing?
Mom is doing good but sleeping has become uncomfortable, however sleeping on the couch is easy but she just can't get comfortable at night. It could be all the kicking Baby W is doing or the fact that the growing belly takes up so much room! Exercise is decreasing as it is getting harder and mom is losing her breath just from walking to the front door of Target from her car or even trying to get on one pair of shoe it requires a little break to catch her breath ;) Food is getting old.....some days she doesn't feel hungry and other moments she could eat 9 muffins fresh out of the oven. Last night sugar was the comfort food, not a typical thing mom goes for but candy was a must! Mom is also astonished that Baby W can come at any moment and scared to lose the little thing she has come so attached to but excited to finally put a precious face to the little one that has been kicking her for months and also providing a spot for her to rub on her belly when she gets bored, tired or excited!

31 Week Doctor Appoitment
This month's check up Mom measured perfect and right on track for weight, blood pressure but Doc thought the cervix was thinner than where it should be so sent mom to get an ultra sound. Sounds like bad news because the thinner your cervix is the more chance you will go into labor!!! The best part of this news is Mom got to see your pretty little face and how much you have grown since our 20 week ultra sound. Mom's ultra sound showed she is still right on track and nothing to worry about, but Doc will continue to monitor it. Mom also got a blood test due to the red marks/acne marks on her face and chest that are getting more pronounced but Doc said blood is ok and will have to just monitor till after birth - Lucky mom. Here is a profile of Baby Weldon's head and hands!
Baby Weldon 31 weeks - During the ultra sound it looked like Baby W was chomping on gum the whole time, was so cute! Must be ready to suck that thumb. |

A Special Story From Grandma Schmitt
This story Grandma Schmitt read at your Baby Shower, it is simply the best and captures your mom's personality to a T!
Once Upon A Time….
There was a girl named Desiree
She was born April 26, 1983 -- 5 minutes after her sister Chelse.
Desiree did weigh 3 pounds 6 ounces and was 16 inches long.
They were born at Abbott Northwestern Hospital in Minneapolis
Growing up with her sister, they had a variety of shoes and clothes. Pretty sure you could always tell from the front entry of their parent’s house. Little home made pink shoes, running shoes, flip flops, high heel & boots.
They had t-shirts from camping trips, vacations, Daisy and girl scouts, softball teams and soccer. Plus an assortment of clothes that relatives made for them.
Desiree had blankets and afghans home made by relatives.
She worn a baptism dress that her aunts, uncles and cousins worn. She wore her 1st communion dress and a wedding dress.
And now Desiree is wearing a maternity dress.
Desiree has the talent to decorate and splash color all over. Baby Weldon’s bedroom will be colors from around the world. Knowing where Desiree has traveled and the design schools she attended. It will show her talent for putting it all together.
Soon they will also be baby proofing their house. Pictures and vases will be out of reach and all outlets will be covered. Furniture will be moved around to accommodate the baby’s furniture and toys.
Stuff animals, books and toys will decorate the Weldon’s house. Some might be the same things that Desiree had enjoyed during her baby and toddler time. But, as all the moms know that the tupperware cupboard along with the pots and pans do make the best toys for kids.
What kind of toys will Baby Weldon play with? Tea Set, Barbie & Ken, Makeup Set, dolls, ponies or maybe a jeep? What if Baby Weldon is a boy? I am sure football, softball and basketballs along with trucks and tools will line the rooms and the driveway. The basketball hoop at their house will be put to good use if the baby has the Weldon height.
And now the waiting game. When will the baby arrive? Will it be a boy or girl?
Soon the 5am going to the gym will be turned into the 5am feeding or diaper changing. No more quick shopping trips to the store or out to a movie. Date night and shopping trips will have to be scheduled in advance.
Desiree will not be carrying in her purse or backpack, a water bottle or other beverages, but she will be carrying baby bottles and diapers along with baby snacks.
As time goes on, their front entry to their house will have basketball, football or soccer shoes, hockey or figure skates, sandals, flip flops, and running shoes. But we will for sure know that the pile will be big if Baby Weldon takes after Desiree – our shoe lover girl.
Trips to visit family, friends & relatives, trips to the cabin and flights to Arizona…What do we take or how much room do we have? I am sure they will be packing half the house
Baby Weldon and parents will be facing challenges every day & every year.
What daycare should the baby go to?
When can we not purchase any more diapers
Which schools should he or she attend?
Which dentist to go to?
Figure skating or dance classes? Football or baseball?
What size car should be the next vehicle for the family?
Answers will not be easy, but we will all know that they will live happily ever after.

These photos do not even do justice for the feeling of gratitude that was felt at the showers with the support and love of all of the friends and family that will surround Baby Weldon!

Week 31: Another day... another ounce
Fetal development in pregnancy week 31
~length
16 in | 41 cm
16 in | 41 cm
~weight
3.3 lbs | 1.5 kg
3.3 lbs | 1.5 kg
With each added layer of baby fat, your baby's wrinkly raisin skin starts to look more and more like it will when they're born.
The heavy news: you can expect your miracle-gro muffin to gain about a half a pound of weight per week from now until about two weeks before birth. (That is why Mom just feels big at the end of the day)
Your baby's developing immune system has made some serious gains over the past weeks getting them in full gear to face our disease-ridden world o’ wonders.
Even so, a large majority of your child’s immune strength will need to come from your milk in the first year.
Their cute little noggin’ (which could already be covered with luscious locks or just purty peach fuzz), is still soft because the skull bones have not yet fused together.
And how's mom doing?
Mom is doing good, still has her energy but losing movement. Mom had a fun filled weekend that left her feeling hung over with two baby showers and a visit from a special little lady - Aunt Chelse..... Mom is also starting to get impatient with wanting to know if Baby Weldon will be a boy or girl as friends and family have started to make their guesses at the baby showers over the weekend - but only time will tell. Mom also had a thought this weekend that Baby Weldon will be two weeks early!! She is feeling overwhelmed with wanting to get everything ready for Baby W but yet not wanting it to end - every day has been a little miracle so far!
