Summer is coming to an end! OH NO!!!

We have all had an amazing summer and it is slowly coming to an end ad we gear up for Labor Day weekend at the cabin.  Duke is already there as he has been with Grandma and Grandpa Schmitt all week!  Daycare is on vaca this week so lucky Duke gets to spend some extra time with his grandparents.  Every time we have called he has let us know how much fun he is having!  He got ice cream to visit a baby calf, play endless hours outside, lots of trips to the park and even sleep in a real big double bed and even a bunk bed!!
Another major event - we attempted potty training!!  While it was a good experience and we had some fun with trying the 3 day method, Duke is not potty trained.  We discovered he just may not be ready.  He did have some great success - he loved wearing the big boy undies, he had told us when he needs to poop and pee and he had success going on the toilet as he has had in the prior months but this boy is just way too much on the move at this point.  We will come back to it as he has been asking Grandma and Grandpa where his undies are and telling them that he doesn't want a diaper on along with when he has to go pee.  Awwww Mr. Duke - we love you!!
Duke also loves to swing on our counters now - anywhere he can find to swing from he will - and he will call it FLYING!  The joys of boys :)
Take a look at some pics from all our fun!

Typical Sunday reading a book while on the pot.

We love to color!

I jump, run, talk, eat and do it all over again!

Wow mom and dad are having a hard time keeping up with Duke these days!  He is fast and has almost escaped Target twice without mom and dad catching him!!  Shhh!  We have been busy busy busy but that works for Duke as he is on the go.  He loves the parks, the pool, being outside, jumping jumping, running, running, sprinkler!  What are some favorite foods?  Any fruit you give him, he will inhale!  He loves carrots, peas, corn and green beans.  He loves pasta, hotdogs, pizza, and hamburgers.  Duke can brush his teeth, put his laundry in the laundry basket, make his bed, sit on the toilet, wash dishes and the list goes on.  Mom and dad love watching him learn and hearing all the words that keep coming out of his mouth.  He can sing Happy Birthday, Twinkle Twinkle Little Star, he is mastering the ABC's.
Now onto the fun photos from our summer that we hope never ends!
