Talking, smiling, moving, grabbing, laughing, and standing!

Duke is still warming mom & dad's hearts this week as he continues to move more, grab more, and talk more.  Each day he surprises mom & dad with something new whether its a new sound, his strength with standing with help, lifting his head, and adjusting to Jet wanting to lick him all over.  New this week Duke was taking extra long naps, which allowed mom to paint a wall in the kitchen but he continues to stay up for most of the afternoon and into the evening which prepares him for a good nights sleep.  With Duke moving into his pack n' play from his bassinet at night he doesn't seem to sleep as long but with some time mom & dad are sure he will be back into his long stretches.  Duke also loves to watch mom cook and when she reads he loves to talk back to her.  Here are some favorite moments from the week.

Duke's 2 Month Doctor Appoitment and Shots!

Today Duke took a trip to the doctor's office for a check up and his shots :(  Good news Duke is gaining weight at a perfect rate, he weighed in at 12lbs 7oz. and has stretched to 22.5" long.  He is a little shorter but doctor said he is a great proportion.  The only hick up was Duke got very hungry so they quick gave him his oral shot and mom fed him.  This lead Duke to spitting up all over mom and the most she has ever seen.   Mom had quite a wet front side, now she knows she needs to start carrying some extra clothes because it is not fun to sit with wet pants ;)  The best part is Duke flashed mom a big smile right after it, he thought it was funny.  Duke did not enjoy the shots but had fun talking to the doctor and checking out the office.  Mom and dad finished the afternoon with a long walk outside to calm him down, so far so good.  (fingers crossed he sleeps well tonight)

Duke is Two Months Old!!

Mom & Dad cannot believe Duke is two months old today!!  They feel for some reason it has been longer than two months because they have fit so much in the two months but have enjoyed every piece of it.  Duke has made large strides in the last month with more smiles, he is talking, loving to stand and spending time on his belly where he attempts to crawl.  It is still hard to see who he resembles most but he defiantly is his own self with a vibrant personality.

Busy Busy Week!

Week 8 made for a crazy busy week for Duke!  He had his first ladies night with mom's friends, happy hour on Friday, trip to Grandma & Grandpa Weldon along with a overnight trip to Springfield to visit some friends.  Duke continues to be a happy baby for mom and dad with bigger smiles, giggles and being vocal with his own language.  Duke has also started using his hands with grabbing for anything he can see or touch.

Duke had a big blow out in Springfield!  First time he went through two shirts - beginning when he was hungry and end when he had to go into outfit number 2.

Having fun week 8!

Duke is 8 weeks old this week and wow has he changed!  He is so active and responsive.  He loves helping mom during the day with cooking, cleaning, laundry along with getting his own play time in.  He has made some great strides with tummy time and holding his head and turning his head from side to side.  He loves to try to crawl but has not gained the full concept yet but sure likes to move his legs.

Now mom knows most of you won't like this picture because he is up high in is Bumbo chair but he loves to watch mom cook and chop.  Mom is very careful and this is the farthest she gets!  Mom teaches Duke all her skills in the cooking department - they are not the best so hopefully he will meet a lovely lady in the future with better cooking skills.

Duke loves to stand with some assistance.  He looks like a little man but he loves to just stand and look all around.

One month till mom goes back to work :(

Today Duke & mom had a fun morning filled with lots of smiles and laughs. It made mom realize how much she is going to miss the mornings playing with Duke and seeing his big smiles!

Duke is a sleeper!

The last two nights Duke has provided mom & dad with beauty sleep. Duke has slept 8 hours straight the last two nights and they are hoping it continues! However he stays awake all day long getting lots of play time in. The new thing Duke loves to do is stand of course with some help. He also is enjoying tummy time more and more. Duke's vocabulary is also growing to around 10 different googles and awes;)

Happy Valentines Day!

Today marks Duke's first V-day with many more to come! With mom & dad's help Duke will be on his way to getting the ladies ;)
Today mom also took Duke to the doctor. Duke sounded very stuffy and had a lot of buggers! Doc said he is perfect but did have some buggers and to start using a humidifier. Luckily we got to see how much Duke has grown since last week. He weighed in at 11 lbs 10 ounces and 22.25 inches long! Wow about a 1 lb and a inch in one week!

Mom, Duke and Jet took advantage of the nice day outside (when we say nice 31 degrees) and went for a walk. Jet was leading the way. Duke loved it so much he slept most of the walk ;)

Week 6 showed that Duke is getting so big and stronger!  He loves to kick his legs wildly while on his back and on his tummy his will push off mom or dad's hands so he is doing an army crawl.  He loves story time because he will say lots of baby terms back to mom as she reads to her.  He loves to be walked around the house and put in several different positions to make sure he is seeing everything.  Duke is also starting to be more awake for the day, which allows for plenty of play time.
