Typical Schedule For Duke

What does a typical day look like for Duke?

- 6:30- 7am Duke will wake up for the day:  Change diaper, get dressed for the day and feed.  If Duke is not too sleepy mom will play with him.  This includes reading stories, walking him around the house as Duke looks all around, Duke loves to play on his play mat but lately he has been so tired at this feeding that he has been going back to bed in his crib for a short nap
-9am - Change diaper, feed and play time:  This is the longest play time usually for Duke.  Mom will read stores as Duke sits in his little chair, play on the play mat, tummy time where Duke does his army crawl with pushing off of mom.  Mom may also put him in the Bjorn carrier and walk him around the house.  Duke just loves to gaze all around.
-11am - noon - Change diaper, feed and play time:  This is usually the shortest play period where we walk around the house and look at objects, sing and dance.
-3pm - Change diaper, feed and play time:  Duke helps mom get dinner ready for the evening, spends some time in his swing.
-5pm - Change diaper, feed and swing time. At this time dad & mom enjoy some quiet time at the dinner table catching up on the day.
-6-10pm - This is the time where Duke is doing cluster feeding.  He will eat pretty much every hour on the dot!  He is prepping for his night of sleep.  Duke sleeps pretty good at this point.  Friday night he slept from 10pm to 4am and then till 7:30am!(best night yet)
Evenings are usually filled with bath time, dad reading to Duke, Dad giving a bottle to Duke to get prepared for daycare.

How is mom and dad doing?
They are still learning a lot but finally catching on to Duke's needs when he fusses, crys and smiles!  Everyday seems different as he grows for them but with learning to take each day in stride they have really enjoyed getting to know his growing personality.  Mom had her 5 week check up and doc said she is back to her old self and all is good!  Mom has also started working out again this week.  She loved getting to the gym a few days and seeing her friends back at her classes!  One thing mom has noticed is she forgets to look at herself prior to leaving the house.  Twice she has left with toothpaste on her face and didn't see it until she got home plus wearing clothes back works.  Oh well she has the mommy card ;)  Dad has enjoyed bonding during bottle time.  The first couple bottles didn't go so swell but now that they are past a couple Duke has warmed up to them and Dad enjoys watching him gulp it down!  Dad also had his first morning with Duke while mom hit the gym and wondered how mom does a whole day for a week with him - its a lot of work ;)  But all the work is worth it when you see him smile, he just gazes at your face and talks to you in his special language ;)
