Weekend Full of Firsts!

It was the first time Duke got to eat from a spoon!!  The first time we got to eat outside!!  Mom & Dad's first night away!  On Saturday Duke got his first try at Rice (mixed with formula), Duke didn't eat much of it but it is mainly for the practice of eating real baby food in the coming months.  By the end he maybe swallowed a little bite, he just didn't know what to do with it.  Spring weather finally came and the Weldon's enjoyed a nice lunch on the patio!  The big first this weekend was mom & dad's night out.  Grandma and Grandpa Schmitt came to babysit early Saturday evening while mom & dad went out for mom's birthday and spent a night at a hotel.  Mom and dad enjoyed their evening out but kept thinking how they wanted to come home to Duke & Jet.  Duke did great for them, he slept through the night and was a happy camper in their care, I guess there will be more to come then :)

Duke's 4 Month Check Up & Shots!

Duke was so excited to go to the Doctor's today.  He was full of words and didn't stop moving his legs in excitement.  Doctor said Duke is perfect and right on track.  Found out the so called bruise Mom & Dad thought was on the the back of Duke's head is a birth mark - just need to monitor it to make sure hair eventually grows in the spot.  Duke also has a 2nd birthmark right by his belly button.  On that note his herniated belly button is doing great and healing - they give it a full year to heal.

Shots - Duke was a crier but it lasted a short stint and no reaction yet - fingers crossed.

Mom Turns 30 & Duke is 4 Months Old & Grandpa Babysits - WHAT A WEEK!

Duke had a great time with Grandpa this week!  Grandpa volunteered to babysit Duke while daycare was on vacation and he loved every minute of it!  He kept Grandpa busy with learning to roll over, poops, talking, and trying to stand & walk.  They shared some cuddles and stories about fishing and Duke is hoping he comes back soon!
Mom also turned 30 today!!  She took the day off to spend the day with Duke and enjoy the spring weather that finally came.

Duke is starting to figure out how to grab his feet, he loves to now put his lips together and blow some form of bubbles.  Duke is also getting so strong, things he couldn't grab & lift before are no challenge anymore.

Duke is FOUR Months Old!

Today marks the four month for Duke!  Mom and dad cannot believe how fast he has grown, changed, and developed his own self in the last four months.  Mom and dad thinks it seems like so long ago they were in the hospital but yet the time has flown by. 
Today mom & dad feel so blessed that they have a little man that sleeps through the night, drools like there's no tomorrow, talks baby language as if they understood him, kicks his legs like its going out of style and loves to stand & stomp his legs to let Jet know who is boss!

Four Months Old!

Day Care closed for week.....more fun for Duke!

Since Duke's daycare is on vacation this week Duke got to visit mom at work on Monday with dad. He also gets to be in the company of Grandpa this week! Duke is planning lots of dirty diapers for him! Grandpa passed day one with only one big poopy diaper and had plenty to talk about with him. The Weldon's enjoyed a walk as the sun finally made it out tonight. This week Duke is working on his rolling skills. He enjoying going from one side to the other with some assistance. Duke also found his feet! He loves to crab them and let out a big smile!

Duke Almost At His Four Month Mark!

Duke had three main events this week that took place.  One is he found the t.v.!  He loves to just stare at it and laugh - yes mom & dad only allow so much of this but he just loves the colors and to giggle at the sounds.  Second he had started making a screaming sound (as he found his 2nd voice beside the googles) when he stands.  He will stomp his feet and let a loud scream type word out of his mouth, pretty funny!  Third Duke has slept straight through every night.  Bed time comes around 8pm and Duke will wake at about 7amish when mom & dad get him ready for daycare.  Mom almost thinks she is getting more sleep these days than prior Duke life, because bedtime does come earlier.
